17 May I-751 Good Faith Marriage Waiver Petition Approved
Our immigration law firm represented an individual who self-filed an I-751 petition requesting a waiver of the joint filing requirement on the basis that she was divorced from her ex-husband and her marriage was entered into in good faith. We provided substantial documentation regarding the bona fide nature of their marital relationship including a detailed affidavit from the foreign national explaining the circumstances that led to divorce. The primary reason the marriage ended in divorce was because her ex-husband was abusive towards her. Included with the evidence we submitted were police reports documenting the abusive relationship. USCIS approved the I-751 petition and our client received her 10 year green card.
